Better one? Better two?

Hey kids.  Help me design one of the characters for one of my many soon-to-be-critically-acclaimed-and-cult-followed-destined-to-be-Hollywood-blockbuster minicomics.  Below are two super fast minimal ballpoint pen character designs.  Which one do you like the best?

Better one?
Better two?

Let me know.  Just click the comments button below and blab away about which you prefer and why.  Yeah, they are almost identical but I can't decide which way to go and I'd hate to knock out a 24 page comic and change my mind later.  Your help is appreciated!

Your best pal ever,
Shannon Smith

The first one is definitely less gay.

Thanks.

Is less gay better or worse?

Well, I don't really know what the character is all about yet, but just going on first impressions and assuming you want a strong character, I prefer the first drawing. The triangle being wider at the top makes him look like he has broad shoulders and a slim waist, fit/streamlined. The second, because the triangle is wider at the bottom, looks more pear-shaped/weak. It also looks like a dress at first glace (think womens restroom signs).

I'm merging them now so I'm up to version 3.

Well, actually, it would be like version 6. I abandoned several more complex ideas.

version 1 is more menacing, athletic and masculine, whereas version 2 looks like its plump, pissed off older sister (but with potentially the same demeanor). Although I do kinda dig the antenna on the side of the head on the second one.

I vote for version 1.

I like the 2nd. The first one is sort of an average robot shape (as far as the chest goes). It looks good (I use that shape all the time)but It would be fun to see the 2nd one get some love. I would also flip that triangle over on the chest to add some contrast.

#1 looks more dynamic though.

I'm torn on the the direction of the body shape. I'll probably go with the direction of #1 and use #2 for a supporting character. I'll stick the antenna on the head though. I'll use Brad's idea and flip the triangle too. Thanks guys!

I would say 2 might even look better if you loss the "hips" and had the leg joints underneath the bell shape.
However, that might fem the robot up a lot.

Good idea Josh. I'm going to do what you suggested but not for the main character. The main character needs too look fast so I'll use the first design with a couple of things from the first and a couple from the suggestions. I'll post a final version soon true believers!
